Varsity Outfielder Andrew Elliott goes all out for a bloop fly ball in a game earlier this season. (You can tell it's early in the season because the sun is shining.) Through 14 games, Andrew leads the team with 16 RBIs and 16 runs scored, and is hitting .381. Photo: Phil Warner
DH Nick Gilmore (22) is congratulated by teammates after hitting his first home run of the year against Geneva, one of his three hits on the day. Phil Warner (3-1) got the win.

Our annual Trivia Night Fundraiser was Saturday, Feb. 5, from 6.00pm to 10.00pm at the VFW Hall in St Charles. (The VFW is at 119 N. 3rd Street in St Charles.)
As many as 20 tables of ten people each will compete to win "lavish" prizes. ("Lavish" is in the eye of the beholder, of course.)
Each table is a team, and teams try to outperform (or outguess) each other in answering five rounds of trivia questions in the areas of history, sports, current
events, geography and politics.
We encourage each baseball family to invite friends and family to fill a table. If you cannot fill a table, we can match you with other partial tables. The cost is $12.50/person or $125/table.
Each table provides for its own food for the evening and any theme decorations it deems appropriate. There is a full cash bar at the VFW to enhance the enjoyment and facilitate the brain activity.
In addition to the trivia
game, there will be a live auction featuring several items -- including a four-night stay in a phenomenal three-bedroom, two-bath condo in the Riviera Maya. Go here to check out this fabulous getaway.
There will also be Mystery Wine and Beer table. For $20, you get the adult beverage PLUS a mystery gift card attached to the bottle or six-pack.
To book a table or buy a seat at a random table, please contact Board President Leon Munyon.
